For those of us who have experienced the gauntlet that women often face in STEM careers it is an honour to give back to the community through supporting a positive and supportive profile for women in the sectors where they are underrepresented. Computer science, engineering, data science, physics and mathematics miss opportunities when they exclude diversity. I’m very proud to chair the Irving K Barber Scholarship Society – Women in Technology/Indigenous Women in Technology program. This is the third cohort of British Columbian students who each receive $10,000 and we continue to build their capacity for creating networks and enhancing their opportunities to lead.
